A woman died in a car accident that occurred on Point Marion Road in Monongalia County on the evening of September 4.

According to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department, Robert Vanluvanee was driving south on Point Marion Road near Warm Hollow Road at around 11:58 p.m. Vanluvanee lost control of the 2003 Ford Explorer that he was driving, which led to the deadly accident.

Police said that a curve in the road caused Vanluvanee to lose control of the vehicle, which went over the side of a hill.

A female passenger was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies. Police later identified the woman as Jessica Boord, 29, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

Vanluvanee was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital to have his accident injuries treated. Deputies said Vanluvanee’s injuries were not life threatening.

The sheriff’s department sent accident reconstructionists to the scene. Monongalia County EMS and volunteer fire department personnel also assisted with the accident scene.

Deputies said the investigation of the accident is still ongoing. Those who may have witnessed the accident have been asked to call the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department at 304-291-7260.
